perticaia - montefalco (umbria)
Perticaia, in the archaic language of Umbria, was the word with which it was called the plow, probably the instrument that more than any other represents the symbol of the passage from sheep-farming to agriculture, with whom the whole humanity has in fact established a deep and indissoluble bond with the earth. It is precisely for this inseparable bond with the earth that a deep rooting in the territory has consequently been created. The 50 hectares of vines belonging to the Becca family are in Montefalco, exactly in Casale.
In the heart of green Umbria, the property, after purchasing the land and planting the vineyards, began the construction of a modern winery, perfectly involved in the surrounding environment. Among the rows, in addition of course to sagrantino plants, there are also varieties of sangiovese, colorino, Trebbiano spoletino and grechetto. In any case, vines grown in full respect of the environment, nature and ecosystem.
In the cellar each production step is aimed to enhancing what the season and the territory have been able to express in the fruit. In this way, today perticaia is an organic farm model for the territory: a cellar able to produce wines of great expressivity and elegance, to be discovered one by one, to get in touch with Umbria.
